The cows on our farm are a key part of how we manage our soil. We take about a quarter of our cropland out of production every year and plant pasture. The cows graze the grass and clovers in the pasture and keep them them actively growing and pumping carbon into the soil. The improvements in our soil health since we started this system have been dramatic and continuous. A side benefit of this system is that our 100% grassfed beef is delicious, loaded with omega-3 fatty acids, and is some red meat that you can feel good about.
